Deepthy is this week’s Poet of the Week for the W3 Weekly #73 poetry prompt. Here are her prompt guidelines.
THE POETRY PROMPT GUIDELINES Write a poem inspired by the following quote: And in that moment, I swear we were infinite. –Stephen Chbosky (b.1970), The Perks of Being a Wallflower You may choose to include the quote itself in the poem or not; Feel free to choose a form that best suits your poem!
I wrote a senryū to include the quote by Stephen Chbosky. My feeling is that I am a cheat, as his words make up two-thirds of my poem. I painted the abstract digital painting in pink as I’ve decided the universe is pink in That Moment.

No not cheating at all, making it your own, the last line is wonderful which takes the quote and makes it a poem.

I don’t think it’s cheating at all – you’ve given it a whole new perspective! The painting is absolutely lovely – pink looks great on the universe ✨❣️

I agree with others. I like that you’ve added “stars in outer space”, because they are infinite to us. The painting also adds your own personal touch, which I love.

Your poem ͏is so beaut͏iful! 😍 It captures the mag͏ic and wonder of a moment when everyth͏ing feels ͏inf͏in͏ite. The ͏imagery of be͏ing stars ͏in outer space ͏is so evocat͏ive and dreamy. It’s as ͏if you and the person you’re descr͏ib͏ing are transcend͏ing the boundar͏ies of t͏ime and space, becom͏ing part of someth͏ing greater. The ͏idea of be͏ing ͏inf͏in͏ite ͏in that moment ͏is so powerful and ͏insp͏ir͏ing. 🌹 👍👌😊

You and I were on a similar wave length with the quote. But, your poem is out of this world, especially with that artwork!! I loved it.
