    1. How kind you are, Suzanne. I wanted to throw it all in the bin. Spent too long thinking about this one 💗 (sitting quietly of course 😁). 🙏

      1. Glad you didn’t ..! Made me think of “feed the birds” my fair lady, and always makes me emotional for some reason …
And I always have a summer book left unread too!! And so often I dream of flight so I was totally there …. It’s lovely when can use our own photography too … you can make some noise now 😂😂

      3. Me too…. Until once I was feeding them in Dulwich park and so many came down I moved away and they started chasing me round the park ..!! And I am not scared of birds and never happened before or since 😂

      4. They can get very hungry. They miss people feeding them the way they used to do.
A sky without birds is too sad to contemplate. ❤️

  4. That last stanza was some kinda special Lesley. This week’s challenge was hard on everyone. But it was fun. You nailed it btw way. You produced a telling piece of poetry. Sometimes the masterpiece takes some digging to produce. It doesn’t flow every week. Good job 💙👏👏

      1. I agree completely. But why does my brain insist on doing it at 2:30 AM?

  6. I had to do a doubletake on the first tanka because I misread it as “bag of weed” 🤣

      2. Noooo! (I didn’t misread it.) Just David’s comment made me laugh. I imagined you sitting on a bench, smoking a joint with the birds.😅

  10. So many wonderful images your words have created and they are all wrapped around that one bench…I love that. Your photos and sound clips enhance the poetry.
My dog’s ears pricked from her deep sleep when I played the geese sound clip..hahaha.
