Melissa Lemay invites us to write a Melissa’s Fandango Flash Fiction Challenge #252 fiction piece or a poem inspired by this photogtraph. There are no style or word limits. I wrote a simple poem. I hope you enjoy it.
The Young Lad and the Qu’ran

A young lad was reading the Qu’ran
He wants to learn what it’s all about
So absorbed was he,
He didn’t hear his mum shout, come on son,
it’s time for tea.
He couldn’t take his eyes away from the book,
It’s time for tea, son,
Mum, come and look!
It’s full of good stories, said the lad,
teaching what’s good and what’s bad.
