For Melissa’s Fandango Flash Fiction Challenge #258, the challenge is to write a piece to fit the photo prompt.
For the visually challenged writer, the image depicts a taxi driving over a suspension bridge under a sky filled with clouds. Everything is shaded in purple.

I wrote my poem Purple Rain in response to this prompt.
Purple Rain
I’ve seen it once or twice before,
It always fills my mind with awe,
Purple clouds bring purple rain,
I want to see it pour again,
Down on the bridge and upon the windowpane.
Purpled puddles dance to the downpour,
I’ve seen it once or twice before,
Rainstorm falling in regal robes,
In quivering, lashing, lightening strobes.
I want to see it for ever more.

Purple Rain in the Park
I made a video short in 2022. It was in black and white. For my poem, I’ve re-edited it and re-coloured it purple. Today’s colour is purple! Enjoy!
Prince and Purple Rain
You might enjoy listening to the unsurpassable Prince’s legendary song, Purple Rain.
My poem has nothing to do with this iconic song (other than its title… and that it’s about rain of a purple hue…) 💜
Thank you, Melissa, for your perfect purply prompt.
