Sun Halo: a kimo poem

I wrote my kimo poem Sun Halo in response to Muri’s month long poetry challenge Looking at Poems Around the World. Day 14’s prompt is from Israel.

14. Israel: Kimo – A post-Haiku form of 3 lines with a strict syllable count of 10/7/6. There is no rhyme. Like the Haiku it should not use unnecessary words. Maybe you’d like to write about heaven or hell?

I took the photos of the rare sun halo on my iPhone yesterday (14th April) at Rainham Marshes RSPB Nature Reserve. It occurred to me that the heavenly phenomenon might fit Muri’s ‘heaven or hell’ prompt!

Lesley lives in the City of London Square Mile. An artist, actor and sculptor (her first ceramic sculpture won the V&A inspired by… Award). Scenic artist & book illustrator, playwright (her musical play, Rapscallion performed in inner city schools and theatre school); TV dancer; Animator and illustrator for TV production.
