I gaze through the window
From my bed,
And see the night sky
Burning red.
My jaw drops
in awe
at the sight
unseen before—
Night is wearing a crimson cloak
With lining of silken citrine
It has pinholes where the light shines in…
Lesley Scoble, October 2024

I wrote the Crimson Cloak in response to the d’Verse Poets quadrille #210 prompt Let there be light. Hosted by De Jackson, aka whimsygizmo, who challenges us to write a quadrille (a poem of just 44 words), including some form of the word light.
