Tug of War v the Street Crane and the Full Moon

The crane in the street
tugged at the full moon
The full moon pulled at the crane
The crane tugged at the moon
The pull of the full moon was strong—
And the full moon pulled again,
The crane was wrong
To think it could tug the moon
When it was full.
The moon pulled and pulled and pulled—
The crane is now circling the earth…
If you believe this story,
You have all been fooled!
The crane in the street
Tugged and tugged and tugged
at the full moon—
And the moon now lies shining
In a puddle at my feet.
