          unrequited love

db:     lying on her back below
           prays for help through moonlit gaps

ls:     dappled stars flicker,
         fireflies dance across her face—
         gentle gleams of hope

ml:    planets — form — a queue
         winter — sky — parade

db:   scattered pills lie—
         her  breath  quiets  like  a    leaf
         moonbeams hold their watch

ls:     a breeze sighs around the glade
	          to a nightjar’s haunting chirr
