I’m Taking a Break

I’m taking a week off—
when I won’t do a thing.
Okay…
I might sip a beer,
and swing on a swing.
But—
anything else can wait for a while.
I’m going to do nothing at all,
just idle away time,
with a gin and tonic and lime,
a grin and a smile.
Okay…
I might play with a ball,
eat some chocolate,
or drink another beer!
Everything else can wait,
because—
I’m taking a break.
And…
I won’t be here!
I’m heading out—
to sit by the sea…
to laze.
If you see anyone doing nowt,
that will be me—
sitting in the shade
under any old tree—
with nothing to do,
but…
to gaze…
