Willowdot is the poet of the week, W3 Weave Weekly Poetry Prompt #71, and invites us to write an acrostic poem using the words BEACH BALLS. This means, of course, that the poem shall comprise ten lines. The first letter of each line, 1-10 shall spell out Beach Balls.

Willow’s prompt guidelines
Write a two-stanza acrostic poem for the words “Beach Balls”;

Thematic: The theme is “holiday thoughts”;

Rhyming: In each of your poem’s two stanzas, the 1st line must rhyme with the 3rdline; the 2nd line must rhyme with the 4th line; and the 5th line need not rhyme.

If you’re feeling ambitious, try following this additional guideline:
Syllabic: For both stanzas, the syllabic count should be 5/8/6/10/6 per line.

  2. This one transported me! I’ve seen this scene but you omitted the crying toddler and the distraught mom, unwilling to get in the water and ruin her carefully coiffed hairdo!

    1. Haha 😂 That would’ve needed more stanzas!
      Sometimes it’s what you omit that then becomes more visible. 🙃
      Thanks, Muri! 💙🌊💙
