The Biggest Ice Cream

I want the biggest ice cream that you’ve got. Are you sure, little girl? It’ll cost a lot. That’s okay, dad will pay. Is he that man who’s running away? I forgot he’s lost his wallet—I’d better not! Lesley Scoble, November 2023
A fascinating fact
Here’s a fascinating fact for you. The world’s largest ice cream sundae was made in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada on the 25th of June, 1990. It weighed 54,811 pounds and contained 4,667 gallons of ice cream. It had 4 tons of syrup, 800 lbs of toppings and 600 lbs of crushed nuts. It took over 20 hours of making and they served it to 20,000 people. Well, what d’ya know!
I wrote The Biggest Ice Cream for Melissa’s Fandango Flash Fiction Challenge #243. Thank you Melissa for providing the inspiration for this limerick! Photo credit The Girl with the big ice cream image is from Klaus Vedfelt via Getty Images.
