I wrote my poem I am a Woman in response to the writing prompts from Sadje’s #Whatdoyousee #228, and Reena’s Exploration Challenge#321. Their photo prompts inspired me to think about it being the International Week for Women.
The photo on the left is for Reena’s challenge and the photo on the right is for Sadje’s #WDYS.
The prompts motivated me to write my poem and to sketch myself at a high pressure board meeting.
I am a Woman

I am a woman,
Sometimes I wish I were a man,
They get paid more than I ever can,
They work less than a woman,
And get more cash.
(A woman works harder for less)
If you ask me, the system’s a mess.
Sorry, no time to write more,
I’ve got to dash!
Got to go to the store,
Clean the house,
Wash the dishes,
Catch a mouse,
Pick the kids up from school,
Do the housework,
Make the tea.
Cor!
Is that all I’ve got to do today?
Whoopee!
It’s like a holiday.
