I wrote my kimo poem Sun Halo in response to Muri’s month long poetry challenge Looking at Poems Around the World. Day 14’s prompt is from Israel.

14. Israel: Kimo – A post-Haiku form of 3 lines with a strict syllable count of 10/7/6. There is no rhyme. Like the Haiku it should not use unnecessary words. Maybe you’d like to write about heaven or hell?
Sun Halo

Phenomenal halo around the sun
iced jewels at 22 degrees
rare heavenly circle

My son Daniel took this shot while on a run along by the river, showing a partial sun halo over the Battersea Power Station, London.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
Thank you, Val/ Muri for your Poems Around the World prompt.
I took the photos of the rare sun halo on my iPhone yesterday (14th April) at Rainham Marshes RSPB Nature Reserve. It occurred to me that the heavenly phenomenon might fit Muri’s ‘heaven or hell’ prompt!
