  5. The descriptive imagery you’ve used is wonderful. You’ve given everything a life of its own, whether that life is spent wisely, or not, depends sometimes on circumstances beyond the control of the subject. I especially love these lines:

“transparency of its permanent indestructible skin shone in hideous mockery of the glassy water”

  8. Alas… people throw them away too often… fortunately we have a deposit system for plastic bottles here, so they are mostly recycled.

    1. Why, oh why!—do we not have that in Britain? There was a deposit system for the return of glass bottles (my childhood bonus on my pocket money). I feel angry that we do not have it here. Oh, for a government that cares about the environment! I congratulate your country, Björn 🍾

      1. We have deposits for plastic bottles and aluminum cans… I think we may still have it for glass bottles, but I have not seen them in a long time. So a plastic bottle or aluminium can will not be left for long.

  10. This stirs me, you expose the tragedy, and what a tragedy it is, the haiku nails this and pushes it hard. What have we done is the question that arises (too late).
