Dorahak is the host for the d’Verse Poetics: Left in the Lurch. For this challenge I wrote my free verse poem, Stood Up (not that this has ever happened to me, of course;)
Stood Up

I waited in my new bought dress,
My unruly hair I’d combed each tress,
Around me everyone chatted and laughed,
But I stood there still.
A snooker game was being played,
I saw someone I knew,
He held the cue,
I felt naked and ashamed,
I left the bar,
Alone,
Unclaimed.
