ml:	I paint postcards
        to send around the world
         poetry

db:	past loves and letters lie lost
         I lie to myself no more

ms:	one with melanoma
        one still doing time in prison
        very few within reach

ls:	passing ships of night
          warm the chill expanse of sea—
          small lights in the dark

ml:	glittering gold dots
        speckle solid black background
        paper universe

db:	abashed  children  sweep
        confetti    scraps,    small    sequins
         over…        Everything
 
ms: 	Because that’s how… IT
        IS…. In the glitz and glam
         of                                Neverland

ls:	her borrowed book on the shelf…
        alas, I can’t return it

ml:	writings tucked between    pages
        some mark my place    others
        expound upon thoughts

db:	highlighted volumes
        on Jewish death rituals
        line my bookcase still

ms:	words read with vitriol subtext
         placed inside her coffin

ls:	laughter as we fight
        sharing the small bag of chips
         irresistible

Dips and chips, or: A rengay

Lesley lives in the City of London Square Mile. An artist, actor and sculptor (her first ceramic sculpture won the V&A inspired by… Award). Scenic artist & book illustrator, playwright (her musical play, Rapscallion performed in inner city schools and theatre school); TV dancer; Animator and illustrator for TV production. Set up Pinecone Studios Ltd and IIMSI Ltd drama and filmmaking workshops in London – producing award-winning films made by children.
