Amusement
On a dull day,
When there’s nothing to say,
I like to strum on some strings
for the amusement it brings,
I’ll pluck on my harp and play to the gods,
And sway my head with musical nods,
Tapping my toes
to celestial allegros—
I’ll play on any instrument,
I like to sit down and plonk on the piano,
For an arpeggio or scherzo,
While playing the keys,
Chopin will please,
and give me a smile of contentment,
Then again with a big grin,
I can play my old mandolin—
there’s always time for a jam!
Am I amused?
Yes, I am.
