Branch Out: a four-person double rengay

I am pleased to present to you, Branch Out, which is our 12th double rengay. Matt joins us for the last time as he is about to hang up his blogging shoes. This rengay is Matt’s Swan Song. His last hurrah. I hope you enjoy it.

         on the wind leaves the bare bough
                        slowly spiralling
ml:     a man carries a bouquet
          of flowers out of season
ms:     damn dust particles
           settle in my nasal cavity
            unbearable itch
db:         weathered hands str|p bark
           produce rods of wh|te sapwood
              ~ airborne spores hover ~
ls:      specks dance in a shaft of light
                   sawdust scent wafts on the air
ml:      I dream of ...sailing
             ...away for an    island
              holiday
ms:      with my back to an-
             olive shrub in Ibiza
             I pray...forgiveness
db:       dance music pulses across
                       the Mediterranean
ls:         blue waves undulate
              underneath the starry sky
                    yachts rock on the sea
ml:         mesmerized
              by Van Gogh’s brush strokes
              in darkness of night
ms:        insensitive eye roll -en masse-
              Susan Boyle blew their minds
db:          arms crossed, a child sulks
                at the Mad Artist's great work:
                  his 'Autumn Landscape'
