Lesley, I felt like I went on this woodland tramp with you, “In the chill wintry sleep of death” to pause in wonder at the snowdrop, life bursting through at the margin of this “hoary bower.” I love how your description of it, “the bravest, smallest, fragile flower,” brings from the persona’s periphery into the center, a like feeling within, bringing about a change. That progression from the chilly start to the warmth of a smile is brilliantly wrought. So good, Lesley (the drawings too which reflect the same internal feelings)!
