Like a Dream
The heady scent of jasmine—like a dream,
wafts so sweetly on the air—like a dream.
Cicadas click their special tymbal song,
They are singing everywhere—like a dream.
The sea lapping against soft golden sand,
lulling me without a care—like a dream.
We stroll beneath the brightest biggest moon,
hands clasp tight our love affair—like a dream.
Hey, Lesley, wake up! You’re not paid to sleep,
or lounge in a comfy chair—time to scream.

Did you know that the sound of a cicada can reach as high as 100 decibels (the same level as a motorbike!)
Ghazal?
I wrote my very first ghazal for the W3 Prompt #147! What is a ghazal? it is a poetry form that originated in 7th century Persia.
