We were friends with Russ
on the campus—
at night, he’d hide behind a bush—
then he’d jump us.
He’d play cards with us—
and he’d trump us;
we’d ride dodgems with him—
and he’d bump us.
Wherever we went,
Russ caused a rumpus!

Music Audio – Russ the Rotter
I wrote Russ the Rotter in response to Kim’s d’Verse Poets Quadrille Prompt #230. To write a poem of just 44 words (not including the title) and include the word rumpus.
Thank you, Kim for the inspiration. If the bar is still open, I’ll take a ginger shot!
And to you, the reader—thank you for stopping by. I truly appreciate it.
