I’m in a minimalist mood!—so I wrote a short dramatic lyric titled It Wasn’t My Idea.
It Wasn’t My Idea
It wasn’t my idea
I never thought of that.
Don’t you see?
It was nothing to do with me—
until it happened.
I was nowhere near the scene—
You’d have known it
had I been.
It wasn’t my idea
I never thought of that.
But, what can you do
or say
when it happened
anyway.
