I wrote The Triangulum Galaxy in response to Sadje’s What Do You See? #326 photo prompt. I hope you enjoy it—and the accompanying song. 🎶
The Triangulum Galaxy
2.7 Million Light Years Away

2.7 million light years away
How far‽
I hear you say
You’d need a fast car
to get there in a day
Triangulum Galaxy
is a flocculent one
Is that different to the one near our sun?
I’m no expert—don’t ask me
It’s got stars of a reddy-pink hue
some patchy,
some blue…
I’d love to go there and have a good look
If you do—make sure you take a good book
It’ll take you a while to get there, you see
The Triangulum Galaxy
is out of reach of anyone’s grasp
I gasp! In tears,
Oh no, what a pity
I wanted to visit it out there in space,
I say, pulling sad face
You can take it from me
You will never arrive—
2.7 billion light years
is a long trip to survive
Forget the Triangulum Galaxy
pull up a chair
take a break—watch TV
What’s on?
Star Trek
and
The Final Frontier
