I wrote my poem in response to Sadje’s #Whatdoyousee 333 photo prompt—and inspired by the photo below.

  4. It’s a simple poem with a touch of irony: it plays with the idea that we always hope things will get better, even when the speaker isn’t expressing themselves well. In the end, it conveys a naive yet unwavering hope for the present.
