Not In, Not Out — Britannia Teeters Between Two Stools

Not In – Not Out

Brexit delay— poor Statesmanship, party and individual prevarication and manoeuvrings by Parliamentary fools has put our nation in a precarious humiliating compromising position.

Time for Parliamentarians to stop ‘Hokey Cokeying’ about!

The Hokey Cokey

What is the Hokey Cokey? It’s an old folk song and dance that for some reason comes to my mind when I think of how the Commons is currently behaving!

The Hokey Cokey is an amusing activity where parties face in a circle and sing and enact the words in a foolish (normally for fun) performance.

The Words

You put your left foot in, your left foot out,
In out, in out, you shake it all about
You do the Hokey Cokey
And you turn around
That’s what it’s all about…

[Chorus]
Woah!—the Hokey Cokey!
Woah!—the Hokey Cokey!
Knees bent, arms raised, ra ra rah!

You put your right foot in, your right foot out,
In out, in out, you shake it all about
You do the Hokey Cokey
And you turn around
That’s what it’s all about…

All together now

[Chorus]
Woah!—the Hokey Cokey!
Woah!—the Hokey Cokey!
Knees bent, arms raised, ra ra rah!

[Chorus]
You put your whole self in
Your whole self out
In, out, in, in, out, ooh!
You shake it all about
You do the Hokey Cokey and you turn around
That’s what it’s all about…

All together now…

(and so on, the song and dance carrying on with more verses naming different parts of the anatomy to put into and out of the circle)

It can be great fun!—but not in The House Of Commons please!

And not when our nation’s future is in the balance.
