I captured this lone gentleman taking a gentle brave stroll beneath my window (I hope he doesn’t venture too close to the chap on his mobile).

Social Distancing

The Prime Minister’s speech from No. 10, Downing Street yesterday (at time of writing) evening (23 March) at 8.30 pm gave stricter controls on social distancing to slow the spread of the Coronavirus disease. We are allowed out once a day for some exercise. Alone or with members of the same household.

I know I said I’d post just one photo per day— but this photo fits into the going for a ‘one walk a day for exercise’ category does it not? Or maybe it’s for essentials as is permitted under the rules? Or not?

*The picture was taken on March 22 Mother’s Day.

Mother’s Day attracted huge numbers to converge on seaside and other day-out areas. Day trippers gathered in great numbers in groups and crowds as though everything was as usual and there was no deadly infectious virus threat. This gathering en masse and flouting of the government’s social distancing advice on Mother’s Day in the parks, on the beaches and on Snowdon mountain tops, most surely necessitated the PM to take tougher action and formerly impose social isolation to a greater degree. Limiting social contact only to members of your own household. To stay at home and not go out to meet in groups.

Stay at home and stay safe. Keep well my friends
