Melissa, host for the d’Verse Poets, FOLDING INTO AUTUMN, invites us to write a Fold poem.

I wrote a haiku about the last leaf way back in 2021. I used this unpublished (until now) poem as my inspiration for my first attempt at the (unknown to me till now) Fold poetic form.

  2. Very moving verse, Lesley. I was one with that leaf and I felt it’s fear and loneliness. Superb! 🍁 🤎

  4. I love all the gold and light in this, and all the d sounds. A very solemn and yet (for me) slightly whimsical feel. I feel that we haven’t talked in forever. Miss you, twin!❤️🙏🏼

      3. It is falling apart. I needed something else desperately. We were able to get one, as you can see from what I just posted.😁 Thank God!❤️

    2. I didn’t mention or thank you for your lovely comment. You got it right. The whimsy was there when I watched the leaf waving in the autumn breeze. I think perhaps my poem does not quite fit your brief for the beginning of autumn. The last leaf is more like the end? 🧡

      1. It fits! It doesn’t need to be about the beginning, middle, or end of autumn. Just autumn in general.🍂

  5. Hangs by a thread, like life itself! Lovely imagery throughout.
