The poem criticizes how beauty and life are captured and transformed into objects devoid of freedom.

It conveys a sense of sadness at the reality of a life reduced to mere exhibition.

A beautiful and thought-provoking poem. The imagery of the butterflies is both delicate and powerful, reminding us how precious freedom and life truly are. I especially loved the ending and the Bashō quote it adds hope and a sense of journey beyond being “on display.” Thank you for sharing this wonderful piece.
