Maelstrom
In the gaping craw of the tempest’s roar Where ocean’s wrath meets thundery seas A maelstrom spins downward vortices to the core Angry dances of chaos against doomed sailors’ pleas. A swirling abyss where tides collide Performing Nature’s whirling dervish fouetté The ocean’s fury in wide inexorable stride Engulfing all that deigns to cross its way. Lesley Scble, September 2023
I wrote my poem MAELSTROM in response to the Sammi Cox’s Weekend Writing Prompt #330. To write prose or a poem in only 56 words. I also painted the picture to illustrate the poem.
