Who Am I & What is My Purpose?

Who Am I & What is My Purpose?
Don’t you know who I am?
I’m a glass jar of strawberry jam.
Don’t you know what I’m for?
I’m to spread on a scone for teatime at four.
Hah! How can an inanimate object be a who?
I don’t think it can—do you?
I must have a drink!
While I sit down and think…
Oops, I’ve spilt it. That’s annoying. Oh, damn!
