I am overjoyed to introduce to you another marvelous collaboration from three different corners of the world: London, Pennsylvania, and Jerusalem! A brand new three-person rengay (no. 3.), titled Nostalgia.
Nostalgia
by
Melissa Lemay, David Bogomolny and me.

ls. toss and turn all night
clammy, sticky, stifling heat,
my dreams, where are you?
db. the barber buzzes my hair
clippings-stick-to-sweaty-scalp
ml. walking through the park
I hear the ice cream truck's tune
a hole in my pocket!
ls. children paddle in fountains
playing cascading music
db. hat and glasses off
drenched in cold fountain water
recalling childhood
ml. watching them throw coins
wishes of bronze and silver

NOTES
The Rengay
The Rengay is a form of linked verse created as an alternative to Japanese renga or renku. Garry Gay devised it in California in 1992 (same year my son Ben was born!). A rengay comprises six thematic haiku verses and is oft times composed by two or three poets, but solo and six-person rengay are not uncommon. Learn more about the rengay HERE.
