What Do You Fancy?

“Would you like a drink?”
“What d’ya think!”
“D’ya fancy a jar?”
“Where?”
“Down in the bar?”
“What d’ya fancy?”
“Well, there’s this boy Clancy…”
“I meant, what will you partake,
Champagne and caviar?”
“What about some sake?”
“Nah.
I just want a jar.”
Lesley Scoble, August 2024
NOTE from the colloquial dictionary
A jar = a pint of beer
I wrote my quadrille, inspired by Whimsygizmo’s prompt for the d’Verse Poets. The prompt is to write a quadrille (a poem of just 44 words) including a form of the word, Jar.
Thank you, Whimsy, for the inspiration. Do you fancy a jar in the bar?
