the old door opens…
it creaks, a lone shadow climbs
the stairway wall
ml:
raspy floorboards
not a soul in sight
db:
she moves closer
shrieking, seeking reassurance
~ a quick glance thrills him
ls:
ancestral portraits stare down;
wispy grey wind gasps through cracks
ml:
a grandfather clock’s
pendulum begins to swing
tick ...tock ...tick ...tock
db:
she fumbles the remote ~ it
s.k.i.t.t.e.r.s... under the TV
