Marion Horton wears the Poet-of-the-Week crown for W3 Poetry Prompt #167, where she invites us to write about a ‘scape’.

I wrote a poem about a soundscape—and turned it into a song! (audio at the foot of the poem). I hope you enjoy it!

  1. A light poem, full of rhythm and with a lot of sympathy. A joyful tribute to music as a personal and liberating space. 🎶🌟

☀️ May your day be as bright as you are. 💛

  5. I shall be humming this for the rest of the day! Love the humour in this. You capture perfectly that feeling when we’re caught up in the music – when joining in is irresistible.

(It’s as if you have heard me sing. Cats jump up on that witch’s broom stick for a very quick exit when I attempt a song 😂)

And what a treat to see your artwork too.

Thank you for this, Lesley. I’m just off to play your song again. ❤️🎶

      2. Oh wow! That’s amazing. One should never be without a pair of tap shoes! I lost my favourite pair—they were gold! They danced by themselves—and they always knew the steps.😁 (I still have a cane, but don’t know what happened to the hat 🤔) xxx
