I wrote my quadrille poem of just 44 words in response to whimsygizmo’s prompt for the d’Verse Poets #233 Bring on the Boo challenge—to write a poem of just 44 words and to include some form of the word Boo.
Boo!
The witch flew in from her eyrie,
to kill the Good Fairy.
Boo! cried the kids,
Get off-stage!
“This isn’t a joke,”
hissed the witch in a rage.
In a puff of green smoke—
flash and a boom—
she flew off again on her broom.

Audio – Boo!
Just a playful piece I put together—hope it brings a smile!
Carabosse, the witch
Speaking of witches—here’s an old self-portrait as Carabosse, sketched during the run of Sleeping Beauty at the Theatre Royal, Hull.
Make-up note: I carved the long pointy nose from a dollop of mortician’s wax.

And here’s a fun witchy old photo of me rehearsing for a different production at the Theatre Royal, Croydon.

THANK YOU
Thank you, Whimsygizmo for your inspiring prompt (and for the booze at the bar).
And thank you, dear reader, for spending time with my poem.
