Three Chickens in a Tree
A free range poem
One, two, three,
chickens in a tree.
One is small
and gives a cluck,
Two sits in the middle
and his name is chuck,
Three stands on the branch,
and doesn’t give a…
as luck will have it—
between you and me…
They are three
free range chickens
happy to be
sitting and standing
on a branch in a tree.

My thanks to Melissa Lemay for the wonderful prompt and the inspirational photo.
