Old Bones:Quadrille Poem (and Audio Narration)

I wrote Old Bones for the d’Verse Poets quadrille #245, responding to the “writing down the bones” prompt. Devised by d’Verse Poets’ the quadrille is a poem of just 44 words (not including the title).

Old Bones

I dodder across the floor 
m’old bones creak
m’tight shoes squeak
I laugh at my demeanour

how come I got so old
no idea

I unfold my back
there’s a loud crack
ow what’ve I done now
I cringe
it’s okay
just another twinge
