Scaredy Cat
“Get on my broomstick. Now!” said the witch The cat licked an itch “Miaow! I won’t go. You ride too quick It makes me sick. I’m scared.” She glared. Adjusted her hat and flew away Splat! Into a tree. “I’m free,” said the cat. Lesley Scoble November 2022
My poem SCAREDY CAT is in response to the D’verse Poetry Prompt. My thanks to WhimsyGizmo for the prompt ‘to Scare up a poem of exactly 44 words, including some form of the word scare.’
Here’s a portrait of the witch taken in happier times.
