What is War For?
War What is it for? A war is to kill. They went to school to learn reading and writing skill. Running in a playground to the ring of the bell To dance, to sing, and play. Today they lie in the debris strewn rubbled crater of hell. To die by a bad man (or woman’s) blast of bombshell War What is it for? They don’t know, And never will. What is war for? A war is to… well, what can I say… A war is to kill; or bend to the bad man (or woman’s) will. But still… What is war for? Lesley Scoble, October 2023
