In response to this week’s photo prompt from Melissa’s Fandango Flash Fiction Challenge #335, I created a poem titled Nyx Emberline on an Alien Rampage, along with a digital oil painting of her. I’ve also composed a cyberpunk song—feel free to go wild and dance! My latest hit single awaits you at the bottom of the poem.
Nyx Emberline on an Alien Rampage
by Lesley Scoble

Nyx Emberline stares
with unusual wiles—
extraterrestrial glares
in ways
eclectic and rare.
She beguiles
the dumb human race
and ignites them ablaze.
Dzzziiizz…
Her gaze lights up with a buzz,
seeing all in the dark—
everywhere in the city lights,
sparks.
Sszzzizz…
With sass,
loud cello and bass
play—
as drumbeats drum,
the rebel’s notated treatise.
Her shocking pink hair flies
in the face of
derision—
a fusion of vision,
and fireflies’
suspicion.
She struts the earth’s stage
on an alien rampage,
Rampazzzzzz…
in a raid of electrical rage.
Ragezzzzzzz…
