I’m proud that my poem No Way to Stay is part of Beyond Borders: How to Save the World – Compassiviste Anthology #10, now published as an ebook.

No Way To Stay | Digital Pencil©️Lesley Scoble

This poem reflects the moment when people are forced to cross a border not by choice but by necessity. It stays close to the act of leaving—the boat, the sea, the landing—and to the uncertainty that follows.

And how lucky am I that Nigel Byng—writer and man with a gorgeous voice—is narrating my poem‽ Please enjoy.

  1. A poem that invites us to reflect on the pain of those forced to leave their homes because of war. With simple words, it conveys fear, uncertainty, and also a very human question: will those arriving seeking refuge find understanding and welcome?

Thank you so much, dear sister, Lesley. Your compassion shines through both your poetry and your kindness. As someone who was forced to flee my own home, your poem touched me deeply because it reflects a reality that so many of us have lived. Thank you for giving a voice to people who are too often reduced to numbers instead of being seen as human beings with hopes, memories, and dreams. I truly hope your beautiful work reaches many hearts and inspires greater understanding and compassion. May Compassiviste continue to grow and bring hope to those who need it most. God bless you for your caring heart.🙏
